14 January 1884 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 14th January [1884]. Olga Mocenigo came abt 10 & sat to me after she had rushed away to mass so I had her from 12 to 1. After lunch Henry & I walked on the Zattere & I left him to go & see Mrs Jopling. I sat with her awhile & then went back for Henry who was walking still & then he dropped me at Carry Edens & I sat there till he returned for me & we went home to tea. After dinner Henry & I went to spend the evening with the Canevaros. Henry played whist with Css Valmarana. We other ladies worked & talked & we did not come home till 12. | |
