24 January 1884 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 24th [January 1884]. Another white fog and no going out for me. I was busy all day in doors. Henry went out for a short time but gave up going to Murano as he had intended with Mrs West. After dinner we went to the Brandolins. Henry played écarté with Ninina. Ersilia, Maria & I chattered & laughed & were right merry. Ct Brandolin was out but came in before we left. We sat in a lovely room hung with tapestries wh they have only just furnished. | |
