27 January 1884 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 27th January [1884]. I arranged portfolios of photos wh took me all the morning & at which occupation I was found by a visit from Mr Horatio Brown—who came to bid us goodbye before our departure. After lunch went out with Henry in Gondola & took him to see the Genl. de Horsey & I went & paid Mrs West a farewell visit & then went to the Edens. It was a dull day & Carry was at home. We were home at 5. After dinner we went to the Marcello’s where Henry played whist. It was very hot there & there were a good many people & I got very tired & was glad to get home.
