11 April 1884 — Inwood, Henstridge, Somerset
Friday. 11th April [1884]. Good Friday. It was quite a hot day. Walked to church in the morning & usual melancholy service with very little music. In the afternoon walked in the woods & went thro’ the conservatories which are lovely & have arisen as if by magic as this time last year not a brick was laid & the place merely marked out—now there are 2 tall houses connected by a semicircular low one which is full of the most lovely & brilliant flowers. Glees again in the evening. Arthur arrived from town. Sang glees in the evening.
