4 June 1884 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 4th June [1884]. Still stormy blowy weather. I sewed & wrote letters. Murrays went out. After luncheon I had a visit from Mrs Scott a lady I had known years ago when she was Mrs Scott [sic]. She was née Burnaby & is still very pretty altho’ she has grown up & married daughters. Mrs Eden also called bringing her brother & sister Mr & Mrs Jekyll who are on their way home from India. I did not go out. Henry took the others to the Madonna del Orto & they returned to tea in the studio. Dined at 7 & went out in gondola in the evening. It was a splendid moonlit night. We took the Murrays for their last walk on the Piazza & then took them to the Giardinetto to have ices & came home abt 11.
