6 June 1884 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 6th June [1884]. Read. Worked while Alice read aloud. Went out in the gondola after lunch with Henry & Alice. We left Henry at the Stabto. I went to call on Mrs Bronson– Alice went shopping. I found Mrs B. lying on sofa very tired & with a boxful of old embroideries & lace wh she was sorting out. The storm seemed to be coming up so as soon as the others called for me we went home. Met Maria Cozzi & she came in to tea with us & brought her nephew José– The storm did not come up till abt 6 o’cl. Played harmonium in the evening. | |
