6 July 1884 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 6th July [1884]. Alice, Arthur & I went to church. They went to Academy afterwards, I went home. Drew most of afternoon. Dr Nevin preached rather well but rather affectedly. Tea at 4.30. Henry took Alice & Arthur to Murano to see the Procession wh they said was very picturesque. I remained at home. Dr Nevin called & stayed some time. Copied for Henry his MS. Mr Malcolm dined with us and we arranged to go to stay with him at Longarone next Saty. We took a row after dinner. Very hot– Fine moonlight. | |
