7 July 1884 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 7th [July 1884]. Very hot. Went to Mrs Eden’s garden. But in the evening we took Alice & Arthur to the Piazza, left them there & went to fetch Carry Eden to go to Mme Valmaranas. It was such a splendid night that leaving Henry there to begin whist we went round Carry & I by the Giudecca to have a little air & only went back to Valmarana’s at 10.30. Sent the gondola to take Alice & Arthur home & went home later ourselves. | |
