22 July 1884 — La Punta, Longarone
Tuesday. 22nd July [1884]. Another lovely cool day & a busy morning copying & painting flowers. After lunch I painted again indoors & then went out to go on with the big plant out of doors & Alice came with me to draw it also Arthur helping by holding the umbrella. We came in to tea at 4 & then we had a drive Henry, Alice & I. We walked up to Castillo where the carriage joined us & then we drove on to a place where we could sketch the Dolomites. Alice & I got out & sat on the roadside. Henry walked on & then came back & fetched us home. Wrote a letter. Dined at 7.30. Mr Malcolm returned from Venice at 9. Drew flowers. Bed 10.30.
