27 July 1884 — Munich | |
Sunday. 27th July [1884]. Henry took Alice & Arthur to the picture gallery. I walked to church. I met the MacDonell boys & their tutor Mr Marshall outside & went into their pew. Coming out I met Emily Reitzenstein and she walked back to the hotel with me. Henry & others came in to lunch at 12, we went to the restauration. Alice was tired & remained in, Arthur drove with me & Henry to the Legation & I remained there. Arthur went out with the MacDonell boy & brought Alice back to tea & then we all walked towards Munich with Mrs MacDonell. Alice & Arthur stopped at the English service– Mrs McD. went home & Henry & I went to the hotel & rested. I painted flowers. We dined at 7. Emily came while we were at dinner & sat with us & came up to our room for a little while, then Henry & I played cribbage till bed time. | |
