27 September 1884 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 27th [September 1884]. I had my last lesson of Desideri. Packed & arranged things for our departure on Monday. There is a case of cholera reported here. A woman died of it yesterday. After lunch I went out with Carry Eden. We went to Rietti’s to look out for any furniture that might be worth having. I found nothing. She found a table– We went on to Morellis but found he was gone away, then to Clerle where we found some very handsome embroidery—an old bed hanging of last century wh he was to send for Henry to see & then we went to the garden where I found Henry had already arrived—had tea there & he brought me home.
