13 November 1884 — Paris
Thursday. 13th November [1884]. A nice bright very cold day—just what is required to check the cholera. I went off at 10 to copy at the Louvre & returned to lunch at 1. Directly afterwards Henry & I took a cab & drove to Avenue Friedland to call on the Hurtados whom we found at home & Idita accompanied us out walking. We went to the Palais d’Industrie where there is furniture &c to be seen & there we left Henry & walked off Idita & I to shop & returned to Rue St Roch at 5 & had a thé complet. Her mother called for her about 6. At 7.30 we dined with the Weisweillers. Mme Ettling, M. & Mme Porgès & Bss Haber made up the party, We had an excellent dinner & a pleasant evening. Ct & Css Villa Urrutia (He Span: Sect) came in the evening & we had a great deal of Spanish news.
