14 November 1884 — Paris
Friday. 14th November [1884]. Went to the Louvre to paint till lunch. Lunch at 1. Lady Walsham promised to call at 2. At 3.15 as she had not arrived we went out & at the door met her so she promised to return another time. We walked to the Embassy but were too late to find Mr Atlee. Maria & Richard arrived by the tidal train at 7.30 while we were at dinner. They said their train was nearly empty on acct of the cholera scare. We went to the Français at 8 & left them to dine with Dacre. We saw Les Depit Amoureux by Moliere very well acted—& then Les Pattes de Mouche—in which the 2 Coquelins acted. The house was crammed & we had not very good places.
