27 November 1884 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Thursday. 27th November [1884]. Edward Ponsonby came to see me & I went at 12 to Fitzroy Square to call on Lady Eastlake & found her in much better case than when I saw her in the spring. She was in a wheel chair & said she had even been out. I walked home in time for our lunch at 1.30 & found Mr Rassam had come to luncheon. At 3 Henry & I drove out. We went to Bircham’s where Henry signed the lease for this house. We went to 18 Hyde Park Gardens to see Mr Kay who is in town for a fortnight. There I left Henry to walk home & went to Blanche’s to tea & stayed there some time. Alice was staying there. We dined alone & played billiards.
