29 November 1884 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Saturday. 29th November [1884]. Blanche came in for a little while in the morning. Lunched at 1 & went by 2.15 train to Canford. Mama went down with us. We got to Canford abt 5. It was very cold, hard frost. At Winchester & thereabouts we passed snow on the ground. Lady Aveland & her two daughters Eva & Margaret are staying here also Mr Clark. I had not seen Evy Aveland for some years. She is still very handsome & looks even younger than her girls & has a very good figure.
