6 December 1884 — Aldermaston Court, Aldermaston, Berkshire | |
Saturday. 6th [December 1884]. I painted nearly all day & nearly finished my sketch. I was going out in the afternoon but it rained too hard so I drew by lamp light. At tea time Mr Ball, Sir Thomas Erskine May & Major & Mrs Thurlow came down to stay. The latter are living at Shaw House near Newbury which they rent & are young & very pleasant. | |
