7 December 1884 — Aldermaston Court, Aldermaston, Berkshire
Sunday. 7th [December 1884]. Went to church in the morning. It was very fine & pleasant after the late rain. As there was no                I was able to go on with & finish my sketch before luncheon. After lunch I went for a walk with Henry & Mr Burr & we were caught in a shower & had to turn back & walk up & down near the house– We all assembled for 5 o’cl tea & talk. I went up with Mr Ball & sat a bit with the Squire & then returned to my drawing. Dined at 7.30. In the evening played dominos with Arthur Burr against Henry & Mr Thurlow & then was taught tydly winks an American game with counters—very silly but amusing.
