8 December 1884 — Aldermaston Court, Aldermaston, Berkshire | |
Monday. 8th December [1884]. Left Aldermaston by 9.50 train. Major & Mrs Thurlow, & Arthur Burr went to town at the same time. We got home to lunch. I went out driving at 3. Henry went to meetg of the National Gallery & he brought Sir Fred Burton back to tea with him. Maria came up to tea & Blanche came also. We dined alone & played billiards in the eveng. I read aloud for an hour Sir S. St John’s Black Republic. | |
