Wednesday. 4th March [1885]. I went to see Mama in the morning & then played duetts with her on piano for an hour. After lunch drove out to pay visits in the distant quarters of Camden Hill & Kensington. Sir Fred Burton called after 5 & the Baron de Gary—also Mrs & Miss Holmes White. We dined at Mr Drummond & met the Leckys, Lord Aberdare & Pamela his daughter, Lord Camperdown, Miss Bushawe & Mr Venables & Browning. Lord Aberdare took me to dinner & I sat next to Lecky. | |
