19 March 1885 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Thursday. 19th [March 1885]. I lent our carriage to Charlie Eliot to go to the drawing room. I went out walking in the morning & to see Blanche. Mrs Burr & Fred Layard came to lunch. Had a headache & remained at home in the afternoon. Miss Duff Gordon came to tea. We dined at M & Mme Blumenthals. Sir Horace Rumbold sat next me & Sir Julian Goldsmid took me in to dinner. We remained till nearly the last & we went to the smoking room wh is filled up with divans & the gentlemen smoked &c. | |
