1 May 1885 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Friday. 1st May [1885]. Packed & arranged things in the morng & went in for a few moments to see Blanche. Mrs Poynter came to lunch with me– Drove out in afternoon with Alice whom I fetched after tea; we went out together & to buy flowers for my dinner table. Alice met her sisters & went home with them so I went on alone. Coming home I went in to see Blanche who was lying down with a bad headache. I made her get into bed & prescribed for her & then hurried home & dressed for dinner. Mr & Mrs Rate, Connie & Charlie, Sir Fred Burton & Dr Burton & Mrs Burr dined with us. Late in the evening Merthyr arrived to stay the night. Connie was still with us & remained late talking to him. | |
