21 August 1885 — Grindelwald | |
Friday. 21st August [1885]. Got up late. Sat with Mrs Ball & trimmed myself a straw hat. At 12 we lunched with the Sermonetas & their 5 children, governess & tutor & then sat out talking in the garden till about 4. Took a little walk with Henry through the village which is very gay & pretty with flowers & chalets. There are 2 fine glaciers within view of the hotel. Dined at 8 with the Sermonetas. | |
