28 August 1885 — Geneva | |
Friday. 28th [August 1885]. We lunched at the table d’hôte at 12 & drove to the town in the afternoon. Went to the Fol Museum not a very interesting collection of all sorts of old things left to the town by a M. Fol. We drove abt the town & went to several shops to buy gloves & materials for slippers for me to work Henry &c &c. It rained at the latter part of our drive & we had to have the fly shut & came back to our hotel abt 4 & had a cup of tea—read & worked till dinner at 8. Cribbage. | |
