29 August 1885 — Geneva | |
Saturday. 29th August [1885]. The weather was so unpromising that altho’ we were all ready packed & ready to start by the 10.40 boat we gave up going & decided to remain till tomorrow. The weather settled down into a perfect pour after lunch & we were not able to do more than take a walk in the morng. Read—worked—& cribbage in eveng. | |
