30 August 1885 — Geneva | |
Sunday. 30th August [1885]. It was clearer this morning when we got up so we decided to start & went on board the boat for Bouveret at 10.40. It was not really fine or sunny but the rain which we saw following us from Geneva as we went along, did not overtake us till just as we arrived at Bouveret where we landed in a sharp shower & changed into the Villeneuve steamer. We lunched on board & had excellent fruit. Got to Villeneuve while it still poured & found the omnibus at the railway station wh took us to the Hotel Byron. Found a collection of letters & papers awaiting us. Dined at 7.30. | |
