7 September 1885 — Baveno | |
Monday. 7th September [1885]. More thunder & rain this morng. Lunch at table d’hôte & Addie also. Afterwards Henry & I drove to Belgirate to see the Cairolis. We found her at home with her brother. She gave us tea & was very kind & pleasant. Dined at table d’hôte & so did Addie & R. Went to Princess’s room & played games at cards & all shrieked with laughter & made a most unseemly noise. Went to Addie’s room for short time. | |
