21 October 1885 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 21st October [1885]. Very headachy but I set to work to paint to get on with my arms– I had to give it up & lie down. Henry & Sir F. Burton went to meet the gentleman at 12 to see about the sale of the great Moretto at the Pieta wh is offered on sale to the National Gallery. Henry returned & lunched alone & went off to a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce about the Liverpool exhibition. The Gregorys lunched at 1.30 & I sat with them & then had to go off to bed & there remain for the rest of the day. | |
