27 October 1885 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 27th October 1885. We had breakfast in our rooms early. Did odds & ends before starting. Olga Mocenigo came to say good bye & to bring me some tortoiseshell pins I had asked her to get. We lunched at 11—& went to the station to leave for Bologna by 12.55. We got to Mestre late & the train was kept there nearly an hour. There were a good many people travelling & our carriage was frequently filled up with 2nd class passengers. We arrived at Bologna ¾ hour late. Went to the Hotel d’Italia. Dined at 6.30. Played whist in the eveng. | |
