2 November 1885 — Florence | |
Monday. 2nd [November 1885]. Lady Gregory & I went off to the Uffizi leaving our spouses to go see pictures together. Neither of them were well having both caught cold in the train coming & Sir Wm stayed up in his room the rest of the day. After lunch Henry, Augusta & I went for a walk but it was so cold that we turned back very soon—& Henry went in to see Mr Gibbs who is staying at the same Hotel as we & has a bad cold. Augusta & I went on to shop & came in later—& after we had had tea I went to see Lady Hammond who is also in our hotel. Lady Gregory dined downstairs with us. | |
