21 November 1885 — Rome | |
Saturday. 21st November [1885]. Painted &c in morning. After lunch Sir John took us out in the shut carriage on account of the rain to leave farewell cards. I went to see Lady Eyre & found her at home laid up with a cold. We went to Mme de Westenbergs to tea & to bid her goodbye & then returned to Embassy, packed & prepared for tomorrow’s journey. Dined at 7. & went early to bed. | |
