23 November 1885 — Pisa | |
Monday. 23rd November [1885]. We left Pisa abt 9.40 & went by slow train to Milan getting there about 7. The journey is wearisome in & out of numberless tunnels. At Spezia we saw the Italian fleet in the distance with their steam up. It rained most of the day. We had pretty glimpses of sea & rocks between the tunnels. Went to Hotel Cavour at Milan. | |
