25 November 1885 — Milan | |
Wednesday. 25th November [1885]. I packed early & at 10.30 went to the d’Adda’s. Henry went out early to see a picture with D. Carlo. I sat with Da Mariquita till they came in to lunch at 11.30. After lunch we sat in D. Carlo’s room talking & the gentlemen smoking. Baslini the picture dealer came to see Henry & to show him 2 pictures he wants to sell to our National Gallery. We returned to the hotel to pick up Annie & the luggage & left by 1.28 train & went as far as Lugano wh we reached by slow train abt 5.30. Dined at table d’hôte at 6 & went to Hotel du Parc. | |
