26 November 1885 — Lugano | |
Thursday. 26th [November 1885]. Left Lugano at 9.45 & went to Basle. Had a fine day & comfortable places in the wagon lits. Good lunch at Göschenen. Got to Basle about 7.30 & went across on foot to the Hotel Euler recommended to us by D. of Sermoneta. We found it small, comfortable & very moderate. Had tea & chicken in the Restaurant downstairs & went early to bed. | |
