5 January 1886 — Inwood, Henstridge, Somerset
Tuesday. 5th January [1886]. Henry woke with such a bad cold that I persuaded him to remain in bed. When I had established him with his work in bed I went to the library to copy the picture. It was a brilliant sunshiny day. Merthyr, Theo & Ld Howth went out hunting. I & Lady Westr lunched alone together. Henry got up abt 4 but did not leave his room. Another dinner party. Capt & Mrs Bridges, Mr & Mrs Bailward, Mr & Mrs Kinnaird, Mr Bailward is quite blind from some illness—young & has a pleasant looking wife– It is very sad to see him–
