9 April 1886 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Friday. 9th April [1886]. I went to see Blanche for a moment before going to the Dinners. Kate went to her sitting & we met again at lunch at 2. Kate & I drove in afternoon. Went to Mr Vigor’s studio & then to enquire for Lady Monkswell who still lingers. We went to see Felicia & had a good report of Mary Bertie– We ended by going to tea with Blanche & I left her there & went home to arrange the flowers of our dinner party. Being Kates silver wedding day. We had a wedding cake & decorated the table with white Narcissus. Miss Hague happening to come in to try on my summer dresses helped me with the table. Ivor & Cornelia, Maria & Rd Du Cane, Blanche & Edward Ponsonby, Constance & Charles Eliot, Kate & Cecil Alderson, Arthur Guest & Mr Charles Alderson made up the party. Maria having brought her girl Nela in case of any one failing & our remaining 13 we squeezed her in also. In the evening Genl & Blossett Alderson came & Cecils older sister Louisa. Kate had various silver presents & amongst them £5 in new shillings.
