23 May 1886 — Brussels | |
Sunday. 23rd May [1886]. Henry went to the picture gallery. I went to church in the Rue Stassart—a large English church but rather too ritualistic for me. I walked back & we lunched at 1. We drove in the afternoon to call on our minister Lord Vivian whom we had known at Copenhagen. We went back to our hotel & dined at 6. There was only one other family besides ourselves so we had no table d’hôte but separate tables. | |
