10 June 1886 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Thursday. 10th [June 1886]. Did last packings. Lunched at 11. Blanche, Maria & Mama came to see us off. Started by 12.30 train from King’s Cross for Hull. Monty came to station to see us off & give us last directions for Norway. Got to Hull at 5.30. Edgar met us there & he sat with me at the Station hotel while I had tea– Henry went to docks to see our luggage on board “Hero.” Fred came by next train from London. Edgar & I took a walk in town till dinner; we dined at 7 & at 9 all 4 walked down to our ship & went to bed. Edward telegraphed to us that Gladstone announced a dissolution on 26th.
