19 June 1886 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord
Saturday. 19th June [1886]. A very hot day. I went down to the bridge & trailed a fly. Rose a small trout. Put up curtains in verandah. Fred & Edgar went out in fjord at 4. I & Henry played cribbage. F. & E. brought home 2 scythe & a mackerel. When they were landing F. missed his footing & toppled into the Fjord. We dined at 6.30 as the Norwegian Sunday begins at 6. Henry & I took a walk in the wood on the Noste Road following the river we got to the Church. I got a large handful of lilies of the valley– We came home at 10.30. Had tea & went to bed.
