9 August 1886 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord
Monday. 9th August [1886]. Lovely morning. Carved under Fred’s superintendence till 12 when he & Edgar had to go away. Edgar drove to Noste in the carriole. Fred walked there with Henry & me– our 3 servants & Larsen also went down. The steamer was late & did not come in till after 1. There were 3 Norwegian tourists also waiting for it. Several arrived & 2 English tourists. Henry & I walked back & had tiffin. I went to fish at the bridge, got 1 lb. trout & lost a large one. We dined at 5. Henry fished Lower Gredhus, I went to Kiespool—never had a rise. I walked back from Fagerslet & fished the bridge 0. Henry came & fished Up. Gredhus & I stood & watched him, he got 1 lb. trout. It rained hard off & on & there was a kind of Scotch mist. Came in at 10.30 & bed.
