6 October 1886 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 6th [October 1886]. I went to the gallery. Sr Barozzi, Mr Truscott & Mr Browning Jr were there & spoke to me. Mrs Burr was not there. Home to lunch at 1. Painted at home till 4 when I started out with the Colnaghi’s. We only got as far as the Stabto in search of Henry when we were driven home by a smart shower. Katie & I made cigarettes after tea. Mr Malcolm & Mr Browning dined with us. A very hot scirocco & a dull day. | |
