30 October 1886 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 30th [October 1886]. I did not get up till lunch time but showed Katie my collection of fans & old jewelry. Countess Evelina Pisani came to see us being in town for a few days. Mrs Burr & Isabel came to tea & then Ersilia. She stayed a long time & tried some of Katie’s songs which she made sound very pretty. I did not go out. Mr Brown dined with us & we played patience. | |
