5 November 1886 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 5th [November 1886]. Wrote &c in morng. After lunch went out in gondola with Lady Bagot & called on Mrs Curtis. Found her at home. After that I went to see Idita Hurtado who is not very well & then we went to Rietti the rubbish shop where we heard Mrs Bronson was with some of her “company” we found her & Mr Browning Jr & Mr Baden Powell & Mr St Leger & stayed a little while talking to them & then walked home. Ersilia Canevaro dined with us & in the evening the Edens & Miss Hammersley, the Bronson Co came to tea & also Miss McClellan. They played a round game of cards & Mr Eden played patience & they remained till after 12. | |
