11 November 1886 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 11th November [1886]. It was dark & wet so I could not go to paint at the gallery so I sat in the studio talking to Mrs Ross till lunch. Did not go out. Ersilia Canevaro & her brother came to tea & her boy came later (José). Ersilia sang with Mrs Ross & Mrs Ross also sang to the guitar. The 3 Bagots dined with the Edens & Henry, Mrs Ross & I went there in the evening & Mr Eden taught us a new patience à deux. Lady Bagot went on to Mrs Bronson’s but we came home soon after 11. | |
