23 November 1886 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 23rd [November 1886]. I painted at the gallery all the morning. Splendid weather. We went to Favenza’s after lunch in search of a sofa & Mr Favenza gave me two. I also got Maria a fine portière very cheap. We dined with Countess Pisani to meet Mme McClellan & her daughter & son. The dinner was in honor of the latter who is 21 today. After dinner the Edens, Curtis & several others came in. We came home at 11 & played patience before going to bed. | |
