29 November 1886 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 29th November [1886]. In the morning at 11 Guggenheim came & we spent a long time looking out some Spanish Embroideries & some pieces of lace to send to an Exhibition wh is to take place in Rome in Feby. Cortelazzo stayed until after lunch & then returned to Vicenza. I did not go out as I have a cold. Mrs & Miss Bronson, Mr Browning Jr, Mr & Miss McClellan & Baron Bregeleben dined with us. Mr & Mrs Brown, & their 2 friends Mr Strachey & Mr Mallet came to tea also Mr St Leger. We had tea at 10 & Henry & Mrs Bronson played backgammon. Edith & I played the guitars. I played the harmonium. Mr Browning & Mr St Leger both played on the piano.
