15 January 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 15th [January 1887]. Wrote letters &c in morng. Emily came to see me at 12—but she went away & returned to luncheon. I went to see Mrs Bronson but returned at 4 as I had to give over to Guggenheim’s agent the things for the Exhibition. We went to Mr Malcolm’s box at the Opera to hear Mefistofele again. The music pleases one more every time one hears it. | |
