24 January 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 24th January [1887]. Packed; put away things &c as Cortelazzo came on his way home to Vicenza. Went out in gondola with Henry; went to see Mme Mimaut & then with Henry to Mrs Brown & I went to say adieu to Mme de Hurtado & then home. Sigr Trombini & Mr Fischer came to tea & Emily & also Css Thun. The Edens were supposed to dine with us but only Carry came Mr Eden being too tired. Henry went off to the Valmaranas at 9. I remained with Carry & went later to join him. There were a good many people there. Home at 12. | |
