31 May 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 31st May [1887]. Fine warm day at last! Nela & I painted all the morning till 12 & then I went on with the Bellini copy. Directly after lunch Henry & I went to see Css Brandolin & her mother Mme d’Adda who arrived yesterday from Milan. There we met Css Marcello. We returned for the girls & took them to the Edens’ garden. The roses there are magnificent. Mr Eden was out. Met Mrs DuGué & M. Avignone & Edith Bronson. Came home laden with flowers & arranged them before dinner. Henry took the girls out after dinner. I went to bed. Lovely moonlight.
