17 June 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 17th June [1887]. Sat to Nela & helped her with her drawing. Wrote—read– Had a visit from Marchesa Bentivoglio & also Princess de Montenegro & her sister. Henry took out Nela. Ola & I remained in as we did not feel very well & went out in gondola together for an hour before dinner. Css Canevaro & Mlle Cozzi dined with us—& the former sang in the eveng. Ola went to bed directly after dinner. We heard the Hungarian band serenading the German consul & stood at our windows in the dark listening to it. | |
