26 June 1887 — La Punta, Longarone
Sunday. 26th June [1887]. Breakfast in our rooms & I did not come down till lunch time. Afternoon dawdled abt, had tea at 4 & then Malcolm took Henry & the girls out for a drive. I went out to try for a fish with a worm without success. The others met rain up the valley & returned early but the much wanted rain did not fall here where there has been no rain for 2 months. We dined at 7.30 & after dinner I & the girls walked down to the mills in search of glow worms & fireflies of which there were a great many.
